Challenges With Writing a Title For an Essay
Challenges With Writing a Title For an EssayChallenges to write a title for an essay are a reality of the modern student. Unless you're a fast and accurate writer, you'll inevitably need to shorten your essay or rewrite parts that will make you lose points. This is just part of learning to write a good essay. There are more subtle tactics you can use that will help your paper stand out from the crowd.First off, don't give away any surprises in a short piece. It's important to make the information the reader needs to grasp as soon as possible. Don't worry too much about making things too complicated if your audience is not ready for more detail or nuance. For example, if your audience is already familiar with the topics you cover in your essay, it makes sense to go into those subjects in a very direct manner. That is, if they're talking about teen pregnancy, say something like, 'Teen pregnancy is on the rise in the United States, with more than five million babies born each year.' Once they're already primed to accept this point, you can move on to more difficult ones.On the other hand, if you're working on an essay on global warming, it might be more appropriate to convey your message by using words that seem to make the idea more real. A better choice could be, 'There is plenty of evidence that global warming is taking place, and in some parts of the world, such as the Midwest, people are feeling the effects now.' A much more important point here would be to ensure that you're discussing the causes of global warming and not just the symptoms. One way to incorporate that idea into your essay is to tell your readers about research on specific topics you're dealing with in your essay. Instead of stating a fact like, 'Historians have discovered that blacks were enslaved by whites for thousands of years before the Civil War,' you can explain why that particular fact came to light in the past. You could also offer the opinion of historians that prove that slavery was a bad thing. These types of caveats may seem self-serving, but they're a way of making certain statements more accurate without giving away too much information. This is why choosing difficult subjects to tackle in your essay is important. In addition to making sure you're covering the basics, you'll also want to show that you have a general knowledge of the topic. For example, instead of writing an essay on the history of dog training, consider an essay on the dangers of having too many dogs at home. Perhaps even more complicated would be a complex discussion on why you shouldn't allow your dog to sleep in your bed at night. Again, these kinds of subjects are difficult to cover with one paragraph, but if you start with a paragraph of information and finish with a paragraph of information you can cover both issues.Using challenging ideas and writing them with ease is important in any type of essay. The only way to do this successfully is to make sure that the information you've gather ed is sourced and not misleading.
